Citgo Gas Credit Card Review

The Citgo credit card range is offered by Citibank (South Dakota). Citgo boasts that they have a card for every customer need, and this article looks at the various Citgo credit cards on offer.

The Citgo Plus Card

This is a general credit card that can be used for purchasing gas, charging repairs or picking up the odd snacks at your Citgo outlet.

The variable APR on this card is on the high side at 23.24% but at least there are no annual fees. You also have the choice of two card designs and the ability to pay your balance off each month or via convenient monthly installments. If you choose to pay your full bill monthly, you qualify for a 25 day grace period.

With the Citgo Plus Card you can pay your bills online, but other than that, there is nothing to shout about with this card. It is most suited to you, if you use Citgo outlets very often.

The Citi Platinum Select Citgo MasterCard

This card has more benefits than the Citgo Plus card in that you earn 4% rebate on CITGO purchases and for other qualifying purchases the rebate stands at 1%.

There is a balance transfer facility that offers 0% for 6 months. The APR on this card is 16.24% which is not bad considering the other benefits.

If for any reason you do not qualify for this Citgo credit card, your application would be assessed for the Citgo MasterCard which carries an APR of 20.24%. Neither card has an annual fee, and the main difference between the two is APR. The credit limit is based on your annual income, and the qualifying income for the Citi Platinum Select Citgo MasterCard is $8000.

The Citgo Celebrity Card

This card promises to provide benefits that would make you feel like a celebrity. The benefits are as follows:

  • rebates on domestic airline tickets
  • 5 percent rebate on car rentals
  • $1,000 credit life insurance
  • $100,000 flight insurance
  • Emergency airline tickets and cash
  • Free family memberships
  • 5 percent rebate on hotels
  • Access to Account Online
  • Credit card protection for all your credit and debit cards
  • Many more

There was no information online with regards to the APR or any other benefits such as balance transfers. To apply for this card or to get further information you must call Citgo direct on 1-800-756-2484.

The Citgo Cash Card

This is a general cash card that you can purchase from any Citgo store and it differs from a normal Citgo credit card as it does not provide you with credit facilities. You can purchase cards in increments from $5 to $300 and when used your balance would be displayed on your receipt. The card is designed to be used in place of cash whenever you are travelling.

As long as your shopping is mainly at Citgo, this card would be perfect for you, but if you want a card that would give you rebates on gas purchases and one that can be used anywhere, you might want to compare other gas credit cards or view other rewards credit cards to see if there is a card more suited to your needs.
