Home Depot Credit Card Review
Like it or not,
spring is going to come and with it, all the DIY tasks you have been
putting off for months. Whether your home is crying out for an
update or just needs some repairs due to a harsh winter, sooner or
later you’ll have to get the tools out and get it all done.
So where do you
begin. The last thing you want to do is spend more cash on house
repairs. Why not consider the Home Depot credit card as a way of
managing the funds while getting your home repairs done.
This convenient
card is powered by Citibank and there are loads of benefits to
scream about. I’ll go through them in turn.
No annual
fee
This has to be
my all time favorite feature in a credit card. I hate paying extra
for cards that carry interest anyway. I am already being charged to
use the card so please, no more salt in the wound.
So I guess you
can tell I like this card already. But let’s continue; see if my
opinion remains the same.
Home Depot
has three credit options for you; the first is the
Home Depot® Consumer Credit Card.
With this card
you can enjoy:
- No payments
or interest for 6 months if you spend over $299
I don’t think this spend limit is
very high. Have you been to Home Depot lately? There are many
items which are available in this price range. You just might be
surprised how far your $299 will go.
- Access your
account online. Enjoy the convenience of managing your account
anywhere you are.
The second
card offered is the Home
Depot Rewards MasterCard®
The benefits on
this card are quite nice, you can enjoy the following:
- Earn 2,500
Bonus Points with your first purchase
- Your card is
accepted at all Home Depot locations as well as millions of
MasterCard merchants
- Every time
you spend a dollar at a MasterCard merchant, you’ll Earn 1
point
- When you
shop at Home Depot, you’ll earn 2 points on every dollar
spent
- Protection
against accidental damage or theft
If you have the
mother of all DIY projects to complete and your credit cards just
won’t cut it, then the Home Depot Home Improvement Loan is
for you.
Once you apply
for your home improvement loan you can look forward to:
- Instant
approval
- 0%
Financing for 6 months
following initial purchase
- No maximum
credit line
- Competitive
fixed APR (Depending on your credit history your APR could be
7.99%, 9.99%, 11.99, 13.99% or 17.99%).
Other benefits
of the Home Depot Credit Card:
Reduced APR
Another one of
my favorites. When purchasing items for your home, you want to get
the best items. We all know that the good things are seldom cheap;
this is where the reduced APR feature could benefit you. You see
when you spend $2000 or more at Home Depot your APR would be reduced
form 21% to 15.48%. Isn’t that cool?
Deferred
payments promotions
Again, the
threshold spend is $299, and you have the chance to qualify for no
payment or no interest options plus other in store promotions.
The remaining
features are pretty standard for credit cards in the industry such
as $0 liability on unauthorized purchases and online account
management.
This reminds
me, I do need to get the garden sorted, I need to fix the fence, the
patio and the garden furniture needs a good varnish. Oh the list
goes on and on.
I better get on
with it.
If you get
around to your DIY before I do, your new Home Depot Credit card
would surely help manage the finances.
If like me you
are a careful shopper then take the time to
compare other credit cards.
Which ever
option you choose, enjoy your DIY.
