ExxonMobil Credit Card Review

If you are searching for an ExxonMobil credit card, you have a variety to choose from within the personal and business range.  We will look at the three main personal credit cards offered by ExxonMobil.

The ExxonMobil Card

Accepted by over 16,000 locations across America and Canada, the ExxonMobil credit card is designed to be used when you are on the road, whether for business or pleasure.  You can use your card for repairs, gas, snacks and anything else you desire.

Features

  • There is no annual fee attached to the ExxonMobil credit card, and if you wanted all the drivers in your family to have an additional card, it won’t cost you a penny.
  • You can access and manage your account while on the road, once you have access to the internet.
  • If you pay your balance off each month, no finance charges apply
  • There is a grace period of 26 days, but this only applies if you cleared your last months account balance.

The APR on purchases is variable at 21.74% so your APR could change with each billing; if you default on your payments then the APR is 26.74%.

The ExxonMobil Preferred Credit Card

By paying an additional $25 annual membership fee, you would be entitled to the benefits listed above and additional benefits such as:

  • A 24-hour full service travel agency that gives you discounts and cash backs on hotel rates, cruises, airline tickets and car rentals
  • Emergency cash if your cards are lost or stolen
  • $200,000 automatic flight insurance on flights you reserved through the Preferred card travel agency.
  • Date reminder service
  • And many more

The APR on purchases is variable at 21% so your APR could change with each billing; if you default on your payments then the APR is 24%.

The same grace period applies as with the ExxonMobil card.

The ExxonMobil MasterCard

This ExxonMobil credit card is considered a gas card because you earn points each time you use the credit card.  These points can then be redeemed at Exxon and Mobil gas stations nationwide.  The benefits include:

  • 3% rebate on Exxon and Mobil stations
  • 1% rebate on all other purchases
  • A free speedpass so you can fill up and drive on in record time
  • No annual fee
  • Online account access
  • 0% on balance transfers for 6 months

The APR on purchases is variable at 20.24%.  If you default in your payments then the APR is 32.24%.

There is a minimum of 20 days grace period if your previous months balance is cleared.

If you do not meet the criteria for the ExxonMobil MasterCard, your application may be cascaded to the ExxonMobil card to see if it fits that criteria.

Of all three cards the ExxonMobil MasterCard carries the best benefits for gas redemption, but if you travel a lot by air or sea then the travel agency service that accompanies the ExxonMobil preferred card would appeal to you.

Naturally you’ll need to spend some time comparing the benefits of each ExxonMobil credit card and decide which suits you best.  You can also compare other rewards credit cards and different gas credit card offers to see what benefits are on the market, as they may provide a closer fit to your own needs.
